Overview
NOTE: Please be aware this process will require you to submit a Help Center ticket and collaborate with the support team.
The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an open standard created to stop spammers from forging the From address in an email. SPF helps email servers distinguish forgeries from real emails by allowing a domain owner to say, "I only send mail from these machines." An SPF record is an information record that validates legitimate email sources for a domain name.
In some cases (see list below), we allow your recruiting team to brand email notifications that come from Evolve ATS to appear to come from an email address on your domain. Adding us to your SPF record provides validation that Evolve ATS has permission to send these emails on your behalf, which helps improve email deliverability and reduces the risk of being marked as spam.
Evolve ATS calls this the Custom From Header feature (Domain Masking), where notification emails can appear to be sent from your domain. In reality, these notifications are still sent from our email servers, but they are formatted as no-reply@<your domain> instead of our default address notification@jobvite.com.
Evolve ATS customers must create and maintain a proper SPF record by adding v=spf1 include:_spf.jobvite.com ~all to use the feature described in this article. Your DNS Administrator or Webmaster typically maintains SPF records. Please check with your IT group for more information.
The list of communications that can use your domain instead of notifications@jobvite.com includes the following:
- Job notification to all users who signed up for alerts.
- Whenever a requisition is updated, this only applies if the job is open, not set as limited access (private job), and the job notification option is checked.
Please see All Users for the list of messages that cannot be sent from your domain.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Failure to comply with this SPF requirement will disable this feature on your instance of Evolve ATS as it significantly and negatively affects email deliverability for all Evolve ATS messages for all Evolve ATS customers and job seekers. We will re-enable this feature as soon as we can validate a proper SPF record on your domain. Please submit a Help Center Ticket for any service requests related to this issue.

Jobvite CRM (Engage) Users
Jobvite CRM (Engage) users can follow the above SPF steps to “mask” or customize their own email domain for messages sent through Jobvite CRM (Engage) Contacts and Email Campaigns.
If your organization is interested in using this feature, you must first work with your IT department to add Jobvite.com to your Send Policy Framework (SPF) record. This update will change the domain of outbound messages and Email Campaigns. For example, name@your_company_name.com as opposed to qrfekjh@jobvite.com.
You must then submit a Help Center Ticket to enable the Engage Custom Email Domain setting.
