Overview
The Bias Blocker feature within Evolve ATS can enable any user to convert original non-redacted resumes to a masked resume. It redacts all data that falls into the following buckets: Gender, Race, Education, Nationality, and Religion. The process below outlines how admins can configure the Bias Blocker setting.
Audience
The configuration can only be performed by Admin users.
Configuration
Navigate to Admin > ATS > View Workflows.
Select the desired workflow.
Click Add Custom State.
Add the following three Workflow State steps with the associated State Actions to your candidate workflow(s).
- Anonymize Resume
- Proceed to Anonymize Resume – Complete
- Anonymize Resume – Complete
- Proceed to Anonymize Resume – Sent to HM
- Anonymize Resume – Sent to HM
- Proceed to Submitted to Hiring Manager
Add the Candidate State Name (Anonymize Resume, Anonymize Resume – Complete, or Anonymize Resume – Sent to HM), then click Add New Action.
Click Add New Action.
Select the action corresponding to the State Name. For example, if Candidate State Name = Anonymize Resume, you will select the Proceed to Anonymize Resume—Complete action.
Click Save. Then, click Save again. Repeat these steps for the remaining two actions.
Hiring Manager Visibility Settings
Next, you will adjust the Hiring Manager Visibility Settings.
Navigate to Admin > ATS > View Requisition Settings.
Click Edit, then Enable the Restrict Candidate Visibility in workflow states.
Click + Add additional workflow, then select the desired workflow from the dropdown.
Add the Restricted Step(s):
- Anonymize Resume
- Proceed to Anonymize Resume – Complete
- Anonymize Resume – Sent to HM
Click Save.
Communication Note Template
Next, we will add the Communication Note Template.
Navigate to Admin > Communications > Notes & Messages. Then, click Internal Note.
Add an Internal Note to save the recruiters time when sending the anonymized resume to the Hiring Manager. Click Add New Template.
Remove any candidate name placeholders.
Click Save.
