Overview
The Candidate SMS Messages feature in Evolve Applicant Tracking System (ATS) allows admin users to create unlimited SMS Message templates for communicating with candidates. When a recruiter wants to send a message to the candidate, they can send it via email or SMS (Text Message).

- Recruiters will have the option to select either Email or SMS (Text Message)
- The SMS (Text Message) option will only be available to a customer if:
- Subscribes to Intelligent Messaging
- The recruiter has either an assigned number or a shared number
- The candidate provided SMS Consent
- The SMS (Text Message) option will only be available to a customer if:
- The message will be recorded within the candidate’s record
- SMS Message – Will be recorded in the Intelligent Message tab
- Email Message – Will be recorded in the Messages tab
Prerequisites
The following prerequisites are recommended to be completed by an admin before recruiters can use the Candidate SMS Message feature:
- Update Communications Template
Update Communications Templates
Admins must update the Communications Templates before recruiters can use the Candidate SMS feature.
Navigate to your user menu and select ADMIN.
Select Communications.
Select Notes & Messages.
Expand either Message to Candidate or Message to Candidate – General Application.
Expand the desired message template.
Click Edit
Review/update the Email Message and SMS Message sections
Click Save.
Repeat this process for the desired templates within Message to Candidate and Message to Candidate – General Application.
Now, you must update the Invitation to candidate to provide availability template.
Click on the back arrow.
Click Interview.
Expand Invitation to candidate to provide availability.
Click Edit.
Review/update the Email Message and SMS Message sections
Click Save.
Repeat this process for the desired templates within Invitation to candidate to provide availability.
FAQs
Q: Is there a limit on how many custom templates can be created?
A: No. Administrators can create as many custom templates as needed to support their organization.
Q: What placeholders are available for the custom templates?
A: When editing/creating a new custom template, the available placeholders are displayed on the left-hand side of the screen.
Q: I do not see the SMS Template option. Why?
A: To see this option, your organization must subscribe to Intelligent Messaging.
Q: Can I use SMS (Text Message) as my default delivery method?
A: No. At this time, the Delivery Method defaults to Email.
