Process templates are used to create customized Onboarding Processes for new hires. Before creating a process template, the following should exist:
- At least one new hire portal
- A few task templates

Create Process Template
Navigate to the Onboard Admin tab, then select Onboarding Process Templates.
Click + New Onboarding Process Template.
Click Add Task or Add Group to add task templates or task template groups applicable to this particular process template. For example, in the case of a remote employee onboarding process, a desk setup task may not be necessary. Adding a task template group will quickly add a predefined group of functions. NOTE: As a best practice, avoid adding inactive tasks or portals to the process template. While they can be added, you will not be able to save the process template as active.
Complete the additional fields in the New Onboarding Process Template:
- Name - Provide your template with a unique name.
- Description – Describe what your new template will be used for.
- Corporate account – Bulk-ready process templates will fetch the list of bulk-ready task templates, and individual process templates will fetch individual task templates.
- Notify IT of New Hire – Removing this option will disable notifications sent to IT for new hires. It is recommended to leave this on.
- Portal—Select a new hire landing page for this process type. This is a necessary step; you cannot create a new process without assigning a hire portal to it.
- Status—The template is marked Active by default. An orchestrator can use active templates to onboard new employees.
- Orchestrator – Select the person who will be onboarding employees.
- Watchers – Select users who should monitor this onboarding process (e.g., hiring managers).
Click Save. Your process template has been created!
