active posting
A posting that has been published on an internal and/or external job site. Unlisted postings are not considered active.
add-on
Add-ons are Employ's à la carte solution offerings that can be bundled with any Jobvite package.
administrator
User role with the highest permissions for all platform features
advance
The movement of an opportunity to a later stage in the pipeline.
Analytics
Included in the Jobvite package. This module is where you will access reporting.
API
Application Programming Interface (API) is used for syncing Jobvite data with external tools (e.g., HRIS, background checks).
Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Core Jobvite platform for managing jobs, candidates, and hiring.
automated sourcing & AI matching
Utilizes artificial intelligence to source candidates and match qualified individuals to open positions, reducing time-to-hire and improving quality of hires.
B
bar chart, stacked bar chart
A type of chart in Analytics on which data sets are visualized as rectangles oriented horizontally and proportional in length to the quantities being compared. In stacked bar charts, quantities are grouped along the x-axis, so each consecutive group appears to the right of the previous one.
benchmark
A point of reference for a talent acquisition metric based on aggregated recruitment data from LeverTRM environments that have opted in to data sharing.
bias blocker
A feature designed to block identifying information (“masked view”) during candidate review, reducing unconscious bias and promoting diversity and inclusion (DEI) in hiring.
BID
Source Map - Source identifier used for mapping and tracking job source channels.
bookmark
The saving of an Analytics dashboard with applied filters for easy access in the future. This term can also refer to the card that appears in the bookmarks column, representing the saved dashboard.
C
call-to-action button
A button used to initiate the next required action for an opportunity (scheduling the next interview or submitting feedback for a previous interview). Call-to-action buttons appear at the top of an opportunity profile as well as next to opportunities in the pipeline opportunity list.
candidate
An individual who applies (or is being sourced) for a job.
Candidate job notification
A feature enabling candidates to receive automatic alerts about jobs matching search criteria they've defined (such as keywords, location, job tags, or custom fields) on a company’s career site. The user can customize the notification name.
Candidate Messaging by Employ
Candidate Messaging by Employ involves using SMS (text messages) to communicate with candidates, a feature designed to enhance communication efficiency between recruiters and candidates.
candidate profile
Fields on a profile containing information specific to the candidate, regardless of the job(s) they apply for, such as their name, location, email addresses, telephone numbers, and external profile URLs (e.g., LinkedIn). Not to be confused with an opportunity profile, which consists of fields specific to the job for which the candidate is being considered.
Candidate Relationship Management
A module dedicated to building relationships with prospective talent, managing pipelines, and running recruitment marketing campaigns.
career site
A branded company page powered by Jobvite, where organizations post open positions and candidates can search and apply. The criteria used in searches may impact job notifications
chart
The graphic or numeric visualization of a data set based on a specific measure and/or grouping(s).
Chrome extension
A program that can be added to a Google Chrome browser that allows a user to generate a candidate opportunity.
column chart, stacked column chart
A type of chart in Analytics on which data sets are visualized as rectangles oriented vertically and proportional in height to the quantities being compared. In stacked column charts, grouped quantities are added along the y-axis, so each consecutive group appears above the last.
completed tasks
Actions or assignments in Jobvite that have been marked as “done” by the user within the Tasks section.
configurable workflows
Custom hiring and onboarding steps tailored by department, location, or role, optimizing the recruitment process across the organization.
count
The total number of individual units in a data set.
CRM
Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) is the tool used to build and manage relationships with passive and future candidates.

Career Website (CWS)

dashboard
Visual, real-time displays of recruiting metrics, including time-to-fill, candidate pipeline status, recruiter activity, and conversion rates, support data-driven decisions.
data set
The collection of events, measurements, or objects visualized in a chart.
data sync
Updating data to reflect events stored in the Jobvite application.
date interval
The periods of time into which a data segment is segmented along the x-axis of a chart. The date interval can be configured via the Date interval filter in Analytics for weekly or monthly intervals.
date range
The period of time for which data from the data set(s) in a dashboard will be measured. The date range can be configured using the Date Range filter in Analytics for either absolute or relative dates.
dimension
An operator paired with one or more attributes in a multi-value filter in Analytics.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
Diversity is the presence of differences within a given setting. Equity is the process of ensuring that processes and programs are impartial, fair, and provide equal possible outcomes for every individual. Inclusion is the practice of ensuring that people feel a sense of belonging in the workplace. The DEI shorthand is often used when referring to industry-acknowledged efforts to make more diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environments.

Clicking a carrot reveals a list containing the data contributing to that value.

EEO question
A question was asked of a candidate as part of the Equal Employment Opportunity survey they receive when applying to a job posting.
email template
Pre-formatted email copy that can be inserted when composing an email in Jobvite. Email templates can be unique to a personal Jobvite account or shared by a team in the same environment.
environment
The Jobvite platform is once it has been configured and activated for an organization. Production environments are designed for real-world use. Some organizations may also have a sandbox environment for testing purposes. An organization's environments are hosted on its Jobvite/RM instance.
Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
Laws that prohibit specific types of job discrimination in certain workplaces. U.S. federal government contractors are required to collect EEO data from candidates by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). EEO data is collected through a survey (comprising questions that ask candidates to attest to their gender, race, veteran status, and disability status) that is part of the application process.
export
The extraction of raw data from a Jobvite environment. This term can also refer to the file containing the raw data.

facets
Search filters or custom fields (such as job type, location, department) that candidates can use to refine job searches on career sites and set up personalized job notifications.
feedback
The information recorded by an interviewer during or following an interview is on the feedback form attached to the corresponding interview stage.
following
The association of a user with a posting, such that they receive notifications when there is activity related to the posting.

General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Legal regulation for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals living in the European Union (EU). Under the GDPR, the lawful basis for collecting and processing an individual's data must be based on the candidate's consent or legitimate interest. Individuals have the right to request access to, erasure of, or rectification of their personal information.

headcount
The number of individuals allocated for hire on a requisition.
hire
Archiving an opportunity with the archive reason 'Hired.' This term can also be used to refer to the opportunity that was achieved.
HireEd
Jobvite’s educational resource portal offers videos and courses that enable users to deepen their understanding of Jobvite products and best practices. Can be accessed from the product, the Help Center, or via a direct link.
hiring manager (HM)
The user listed in the 'Hiring manager' field on a job posting is typically the individual responsible for making the final hiring decision.
Human Resources (HR)
Department or user role overseeing recruitment and personnel.
Human Resources Information/Management System (HRIS/HRMS)
Jobvite can integrate with HRIS platforms for seamless data handoff (e.g., onboarding, payroll).

Intelligent Messaging (IM)

instance
The collection of Jobvite environments associated with a domain (or set of domains) on Employ's servers. An instance encompasses an organization's production environment, as well as its sandbox environment, if applicable.
interview
A scheduled interaction between a candidate and an interviewer (or interviewers) for discovery and/or assessment.
interviewer
The user(s) listed in the 'Find interviewers' field are contacted when an interview is scheduled.
interview creator
The user who scheduled the interview.

Job Approver (JA)
User role that approves job postings or requisitions.
Job Description Grader
Utilizes AI and benchmarks to review posting language and structure, identifying areas where inclusivity and clarity can be enhanced.
Job Seeker Account
An account that allows candidates to track applications, view responses, and contact hiring teams for roles applied for through the Jobvite platform.

Personalized invitations (“jobvites”) to apply for open positions, trackable for source analytics and referral program effectiveness.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI)

Refers to the company's historical applications, features, and processes.
library
A collection of shared dashboards, housed in the Libraries & Saved Reports section of Analytics. Libraries are organized into dashboards that the user has shared with others and dashboards that have been shared with the user.

median
The value in a data set is below and above, where there is an equal number of values when ordered by magnitude.
merge code
When sending out emails from Recruitment Marketing (RM), there are a series of email merge codes (variables) that can be used in an email or an email template. These merge codes are resolved to a value at the time of sending the email. Merge codes will also be referred to as placeholders in Jobvite ATS.
mobile-optimized career site
A career page where applicants can browse and apply for jobs from any device, integrating with Jobvite’s ATS and CRM* features.

Named Support Contact
A company-designated individual authorized to submit support tickets on behalf of the organization. Only Named Support Contacts—and not general users—can request technical support from Jobvite.
Native eSignature
Built-in digital signature collection for offer letters and contracts, eliminating the need for external signature tools.
notification icon
An icon in the Jobvite interface is used to access system notifications, including updates on assigned tasks.
O
offer
An object representing the proposal of employment to a candidate.
offer revision
Any saved change to the value(s) in the 'Offer details' fields on an offer, after the offer has been sent. For example, changing the compensation amount and expiry date on an offer and re-sending that offer would be counted as a single revision.
offer status
One of five states that an offer can be in - Started, Approved, Sent, Signed, or Declined.
Onboard (Legacy)
Jobvite's legacy application used to transition new hires before the first day of work.
Onboarding (OB)
A suite of tools that streamlines the transition of new hires, enabling paperwork completion, access to company documents, introductions, and setting of expectations—all before the first day of work.
operator
The logical connective used to express the relationship between a multi-value filter attribute and the parameters of a dataset (e.g., "is", "is not", "contains", "starts with", etc.) in Analytics.
opportunity
An object representing the consideration of a candidate for a single job. A candidate can have multiple opportunities.
opportunity profile
Fields on a profile consist of information specific to the job for which the candidate is being considered, such as the job title and their résumé, as well as the opportunity's stage, origin, and source. Not to be confused with the candidate profile, which consists of fields containing information specific to the candidate, regardless of the job(s) for which they apply.
overdue tasks
Tasks assigned in Jobvite that are past their scheduled due dates.
P
panel, interview panel
A series of one or more interviews that take place as part of the same scheduling action. For example, three consecutive 30-minute interviews could be scheduled with a candidate, each with a different interviewer, as part of the same scheduling action. This would constitute one panel.
parameter
The defined limit of a data set based on the attributes in the applied filters in Analytics.
pie chart
A type of chart in Analytics on which data sets are visualized as segments of a circle proportional in size to the quantities being compared.
pipeline
The section of a Jobvite environment in which all opportunities are housed and organized, accessed via the Candidates tab in the platform header.
placeholder
When sending out emails or offer letters from Jobvite ATS, there are a series of placeholders (variables) that can be used in email or offer letter templates. These placeholders are resolved to a value at the time of sending the email or offer letter. Placeholders will also be referred to as merge codes in Recruitment Marketing (RM).
posting
An object representing a job being hired for to which candidates can apply.
posting distribution
The visibility configuration of an open posting - External only, Internal only, External & Internal, Unlisted, or Confidential.
posting status
One of five states that a posting can be in - Draft, Pending, Rejected, Open, or Closed.
primary data set
For charts in Analytics comparing two data sets, the primary data set is the larger of the two and contains the other. For charts that use two data sets to calculate an average, the primary data set represents the quantity of events, objects, or measurements that are being analyzed.
primary grouping
For charts in Analytics that organize data sets based on more than one parameter, the primary grouping is the one reflected on one of the chart axes.

Platform designed to promote the employer brand, attract candidates, and manage engagement campaigns as part of the talent acquisition strategy
referral
An opportunity generated from a submission to an organization’s referral form.
regression
The movement of an opportunity to an earlier stage in the pipeline.
requisition
An object of record representing headcount to be filled.
requisition ID
The numeric ID for a requisition.
requisition owner
The user listed in the 'Req. owner' field on a requisition; typically the individual responsible for filling the headcount.
requisition status
One of six states a requisition can be in: Draft, Pending, Rejected, On Hold, Open, or Closed.

scheduler
The sub-window in which interview events and panels are configured and scheduled. T
score
The rating given to a candidate by an interviewer as part of their feedback form.
Smart Scheduler
A tool for proposing and coordinating interview times among candidates and internal stakeholders, reducing back-and-forth communication.
source
The location(s) or action(s) from which an opportunity is generated (e.g., added manually, LinkedIn, job fair). Not to be confused with the origin of an opportunity.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Allows users to log in using credentials from another authentication provider (e.g., Okta, Google SAML).
stage
A milestone in the pipeline of a Jobvite environment.
status
The state of an object, such as an offer, posting, or requisition.
support ticket
A formal request for technical or product assistance. Only company-designated Named Support Contacts can submit these through the Help Center.
system status
A section in the Help Center reports real-time status and any issues with Jobvite’s services or platform.

Talemetry
Legacy name for Recruitment Marketing.
talent community
A database for job seekers who opt in for updates and engagement without applying immediately, allowing for future candidate nurturing.
task list
A management view displaying tasks assigned by or to a user, with filtering options for open, overdue, and completed tasks.
tool tip
The pop-over that extends on hover from the ⓘ icon in the Jobvite platform. The pop-up contains a description of the item.
U
unit of measure
The type of value used to grade the magnitude of the events, measurements, or objects in the data sets of charts in Analytics and reflected on at least one axis of multi-value charts.
User Experience (UX)
User Interface (UI)
Refers to screens, dashboards, or widgets that users interact with.

video interview
Integrated capability to virtually interview candidates, supporting remote hiring, flexible scheduling, and reducing logistical barriers.
Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Mentioned in rare cases related to network access in onboarding support.
