Jobs in Onboarding

Follow

Introduction

In Onboarding, the Jobs tab represents unique jobs or job types. A job could be a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Forklift Operator, Welder, etc. It does not necessarily represent a single job listing or job fulfillment. It’s essential to recognize that the job tab is highly flexible and can be utilized in a manner that aligns with your company's needs.

For example, imagine you’re frequently hiring truck drivers for your package logistics company. The onboarding requirements for someone who is hired into a truck driver role at your company seldom change and are relevant to anyone hired into a truck driver position. Meaning, Truck Driver could be a job in Onboarding, and one job will be used for all hires in this role. Regardless of the frequency, jobs should be grouped to consolidate onboarding requirements for similar roles and locations.

Jobs will be automatically synced from Jobvite ATS or manually created.

Additional Information

The Jobs tab has an address field, which is useful when building policies. The job location is often used to define the state-based requirements for a worker, not the employer’s location. For example, an employee hired for a job in California must complete the state's employment requirements to work in that state. If you’re using the Onboarding Compliance Library and default policies, surfacing these requirements via the Placements will use the Job address.
