The purpose of the Assert Exclusive Referral record when a candidate applies without following a Referral link feature in Recruitment Marketing (RM) is to create referral records when a candidate applies for a job (in the ATS or via Apply Workflow) or when the recruiter moves a candidate to another job requisition in the ATS when there exists an eligible referral record in the system. This means that every combination of candidate application + job that should be considered for a referral bonus is created to make both reporting and tracking status more accurate.

What Scenarios work without the Assert Feature?
Without the Assert feature, some scenarios in Referrals already create new eligible referral records.
NOTE: In all cases, when a candidate who is referred to Job A (social referral or direct referral) applies to the same Job A, their referral record is connected to the candidate's job application, and the status is updated to Applied. No new referral record is required.
The scenarios below are currently included as standard behavior, even when the Assert feature is not enabled.
