When the Use Business Email to email Current Employees feature is enabled, candidates with a Lifecycle status of Current Employee who have a work email address in Recruitment Marketing (RM) have their work email set as their primary email address. It means all email communication will be sent to their work email address.

FAQs
Q. What if the candidate has more than one work email?
A. The feature uses the most recent work email.
Q. Can I see on the profile or summary which email address is used for communication?
A. Yes, the primary email is updated on the profile and summary.
Q. Do I need to have the Lifecycle State feature for this change to work?
A. Yes, work email is used automatically only for the candidates who have a Lifecycle State of Current Employee.
Q. What happens if the lifecycle state is removed or changed?
A. When a candidate is no longer a current employee, their primary email address is recalculated automatically and set to the most recent personal email.
Q. My company is using lifecycle states, but we are not enforcing the use of business email. Will this feature still apply to us?
A. This feature is controlled by a switch accessible by support or implementation teams and is turned off by default. If you don’t want to use business email for current employees, you can turn off this feature.
Q. What happens if my company is using this feature, but not all current employees have their business email synced into RM?
A. If a business email address is not available, the feature uses the most recent personal email for email communication with current employees. When a business email is synced into RM, it is automatically set as the primary email for current employees.
Q. Can I manually change the email for an employee if they prefer to get emails to their personal address?
A. Yes, recruiters can manually set the Primary Email flag to any email address on a profile. This change will be respected and not overwritten automatically as long as the candidate has the Current Employee lifecycle state. When the lifecycle is changed, the feature automatically sets the primary email to the most recent personal email.
Q. What happens to the primary email when an employee profile is merged with a profile that does not have the “Current Employee” lifecycle state?
A. Merge is using the most recent lifecycle state value. If the most recent lifecycle is Current Employee, the primary email address will be a business email (or another email address updated by the recruiter on the current employee’s profile). If the most recent lifecycle is not Current Employee, the primary email will be the most recent personal email.
Q. Does the feature require candidate data reprocessing in my account?
A. Yes, when this feature is turned on or off, candidates' data must be reprocessed. Please submit a Help Center ticket to have the candidates' data reprocessed.
