Overview
As the pay transparency movement continues to gain momentum, new compensation-related considerations exist when attracting top talent and providing a fair and equitable work environment. A recent study found that 53% of surveyed workers would not apply for a job if the job posting did not contain a salary range.
More recently, job boards have started making salary an available field in job postings. If this information is not provided, some job boards will start displaying average market data, which may not reflect what our customers might want to display in their postings.
Evolve ATS has four standard fields for salary data that can be added to your requisition templates. The following article covers the salary information job boards accept and how to add these fields.

Salary Fields
Evolve ATS has four standard fields for salary data on the requisition entity.
- Salary Min - If you would like to submit only one salary value instead of a range, you will only use Salary Min.
- Salary Max - Salary Max must be larger than Salary Min. If this condition is not met, the salary information will not be included in the job board feeds.
-
Salary Frequency – The salary frequency values are as follows:
- Annually
- Monthly
- Weekly
- Daily
- Hourly
- Salary Currency - Evolve ATS's existing currencies are supported in this field, but Evolve ATS will only send salaries to specific job board feeds for the currencies it supports. See Job Feeds for more information.
Salary Min, Salary Currency, and Salary Frequency are the minimum requirements for adding salary information to job board feeds.
Job Feed
Evolve ATS will share salary information through job feeds in compliance with the job board's data model.
Indeed
Indeed accepts a single value for salary. Evolve ATS will use the following transformation from our fields to their single field.
- Indeed Salary = <Salary Currency><Salary Min> + “ - “ + <Salary Currency><Salary Max> + <Period Transformation>
- Period Transformation
- Annually = “per year”
- Monthly = “per month”
- Weekly = “per week”
- Daily = “per day”
- Hourly = “per hour”
Indeed only accepts the currencies below. Salary information will only be sent to Indeed when they support the Salary currency.

ZipRecruiter accepts four salary fields, which aligns with Evolve ATS’s four fields.
- <compensation_interval> = Salary Frequency
- <compensation_min> = Salary Min

- <compensation_currency> = Salary Currency
ZipRecruiter only accepts three currencies. Salary information will not be sent to ZipRecruiter in currencies other than these.

FAQ
Q. What if I have created custom fields with salary details already?
A. Many customers have created custom fields to hold salary information when Evolve ATS did not have these as standard fields. You can now use the standard salary fields to send to job boards, but if you want your historical and new data to live in the same field, you may need a services project to convert their older salary data into the latest salary fields.
Q. Will these Evolve ATS salary details be included in my Evolve RM Job Broadcast?
A. Not at this time. These fields are not sent over to Evolve RM, so salary fields in Evolve RM will continue to exist separately from the salary fields in Evolve ATS. Data will not be impacted by the inclusion of Job Broadcast today. NOTE: If you use custom salary fields in Evolve ATS that are being used in Evolve RM, continue using those fields until the new ATS standard salary fields are also available in RM.
Q. Can I make these fields conditionally required based on job location?
A. These are either required or optional based on the requisition template. For example, if you want to require them for all jobs in California, you could create a requisition template for California jobs that has salary fields as required.
Q. Will these salary fields be included in my career site by default?
A. The Evolve ATS career site template has been updated to include these fields. If you have purchased a standard career website solution, the salary fields will be added by default when the template is updated. These fields must be manually added for customized Evolve ATS Career sites. Please submit a Help Center ticket to request any changes to your career site.
