Overview
The Broadcast (or Auto-Broadcast) Settings in Evolve Recruitment Marketing (RM) allow companies to manage the automatic distribution of jobs to various job boards. The option is to create one or more auto-broadcast settings on each job list. Create one or more brands that control the look and feel of the Apply Workflow. For each job list, you can set the distribution settings, job board on/off, and specific job board settings (called credentials).
NOTE: For companies who have the Broadcast module turned on, this is labeled Broadcast Settings. If a company has the Broadcast module off, it is labeled Auto-Broadcast Settings.

Broadcast/ Auto-Broadcast Settings List
For each job list set up (in Applications > Jobs), there is a corresponding job list in Broadcast Settings. When a job list is activated, you see:
- Company Name and Address. This is configurable in the Job list settings (it can default to Evolve RM company settings or be overridden by the list).
- Active Features - Shows ON/OFF if the feature is on for the job list.
- Auto Refresh - Whether or not jobs will be refreshed on job boards that support auto-refresh.
- Exclude Salary - Whether or not the salary is sent to the job destinations
- Dynamic Company - Whether or not a dynamic company field is used as a company name (rather than the configured company).
- ACTIVE (meaning: jobs are being distributed) or INACTIVE (meaning: jobs are not distributed).
- List of Job boards where jobs are being distributed if Active.
- By default, the job lists are not activated to distribute jobs.
Click Edit and Activate (if inactive) or Edit (if actively distributing jobs) to configure the settings and choose boards for distribution.
If the job list is ACTIVE, you can also Deactivate it.
Edit Broadcast/Auto-Broadcast Settings
When you edit a specific job list, you see Company Settings, Recruiter Settings, Auto-Broadcast Destinations, Notifications, Broadcast Options, and Broadcast Engine Settings.
Company Settings
The company settings determine the overall behavior of the job distribution and what company settings to use in the distribution. The following are the settings:
- Use My Talemetry Company Settings - Determines the strings that will be distributed to each of the job boards related to the company name and address.
- ON - By default, pull the company name, address, city, country, state, and zip/postal code from the Company Settings. If this is on, you cannot change the values of those fields.
- OFF—You can enter the values for the company name, address, city, country, state, and zip/postal code.
Dynamic Settings
Dynamic Settings map job fields to standard fields used in the job posting to various job boards. The following are the configurable dynamic settings:
- Company Name—This setting automatically sends the company name string as a value from a custom field on a job. This is useful for complex multi-company implementations (for example, a large hospital chain that wants to distribute the company name as the specific hospital rather than the chain name).
- ON—If on, you can configure a specific custom field to pull the company name string that will be sent to job boards (with the drop-down field “Company Name Custom Field”).
- OFF - Default. Use the configured company name setting on the list
- Category - This setting automatically sends a job category string to the job board based on the job's custom field. This is useful when a company has its definitions of job categories.
- ON—If on, you can configure a specific custom field to pull the job category field sent to job boards (with the drop-drop-downd “Category Custom Field”).
- OFF - Default. Uses the job category standard field on the job.
- Recruiter Email - This setting automatically sends the recruiter (or hiring manager) email as a value from a custom field on a job. This is useful for job boards that need a contact email address andy want to be a specific person (i.e., a hiring manager or recruiter for a job).
- ON—If on, you can configure a specific custom field to pull the recruiter or hiring manager email string that will be sent to job boards (with the drop-down field “Recruiter Emaildrop-downield”).
- OFF - Default. Use the configured Default Recruiter Settings (contact email) on the list.
- Posting Date—This setting automatically sends the posting date (typically displayed on a career site) from a job to the posting date field on a job board. Only use this if it is defined as a custom field from the ATS.
- ON—If on, you can configure a specific custom field to pull the posting date from. It must be a date field (highly recommended). If it is a string field, please contact Technical Services to confirm the format needed.
- OFF - Default. Use the configured calculated posting date on the list
Other Settings
The following are some other settings for auto-broadcast:
- Exclude Salary
- ON - If on, then the related salary fields from the Job (Salary Range - Minimum, Salary Range - Maximum, Salary Type, Currency) are excluded in the job distribution to related job boards
- OFF - Default. There is no restriction on salary data distribution.
- Append Suffix to Job ID—This helps ensure job uniqueness on job boards, especially when you have multiple ATS integrations and potentially duplicate job IDs.
- ON - If on, you can configure a string to add as a suffix to each job ID to help maintain uniqueness across boards (with the field “Suffix”).
- OFF - Default. Do not append any suffix to a job ID.
- Auto Refresh - This is to help ensure job freshness on job boards, especially for long-running jobs/evergreen jobs
- ON—If on, any job board feed that supports auto-refresh will send new jobs/job IDs with new dates after X days have passed (where X is the configured number of days on the global board settings).
- OFF - Default. Do not enable auto-refresh for boards.
- NOTES:
- This is done by a copy of the job (clone) created in that job list only by appending a "Cn" onto the req ID used for broadcast posting. i.e. 12345Cn
- This clone is only visible with the job list and auto-broadcast to that specific board. It cannot be used or seen for any other purpose.
- The jobs will be refreshed at the lowest day rate if you have multiple auto-refresh boards in a single job list. For example, board 1 is 35 days, board 2 is 30 days, and all jobs in this list will refresh at 30 days.
- If a job list is shared between the broadcast and the career site, the jobs will appear in the job list, but these manually cloned jobs will NOT be published to the career site.
- If you have multiple auto broadcasts enabled on a single list with at least one auto-refresh configured, all jobs will be cloned in that list, but the boards that do not have auto-refresh enabled at the board level will not broadcast with updated dates.
- Auto Refresh with Tags (comma separated) - If auto-refresh is enabled, and there are values in this field, then only jobs that match the job tags will be auto-refreshed. NOTE: Refresh days are system-wide settings per board.
- Exclude Region for Non-US/CA
- ON—If on, the region field is not sent to the job board for countries other than the USA and Canada.
- OFF - Default. There is no restriction on region data distribution.
Recruiter Settings
The Recruiter settings determine the default recruiter settings to use in the distribution. So, as you know, most job boards do not use the recruiter settings. The following are the settings:
- Contact Name - The name of a recruitment marketing administrator that the job board could contact in case of questions.
- Contact Email - the email address of a recruitment marketing administrator that the job board could contact in case of questions.
Auto-Broadcast Destinations
The Auto-Broadcast Destinations settings determine which job board distribution channels are enabled.
The top-level switch will allow all job boards to be turned OFF quickly.
When one is enabled, there are various options/types/configurations
Job List Feed
- When this type is enabled, a Feel URL will be displayed.
- In all of these types of job boards, the Implementation person must share this URL with the job board to have the Job board consume it.
- Examples: Generic XML, Custom XML, and RSS are all of this type
Multiple Company Feed
- When this type is enabled, the jobs from the job list are added to a common/global feed for this job.
- Typically, there are no actions required for the Implementation person
- The Feed URL (or common SFTP) is already known or indexed by the job board
- Examples: Indeed, Direct Employers
Credentials
- Some job boards (Job list feed or multiple company feed type) require additional configuration options. This is expressed as “Credentials.”
- The Implementation person must create or choose credentials for that job board type
- The fields in the credentials will vary by job board type
Example for RSS:
Notifications
The Notifications area allows a company to send an email to a set of email addresses whenever a new job is added to the job list. This feature could send email distribution lists for third parties, alumni, or other special channels that only receive jobs via email.
When this feature is turned on, you need to configure credentials, which include the following:
- Email Addresses - comma-separated list of email addresses. Recommend to use an email alias for a distribution list if the individual email addresses change a lot
- Email Template - choose an email template when notifying about a new job.
Broadcast Options
The Broadcast options define the behavior of the job URL sent to job boards. This configuration is also used in Source&CRM Campaign when sending emails or texts that include a job URL pointing to “System Default” instead of a career site. (When a career site is selected in emails or texts, the job URL always points to the selected career site regardless of the broadcast setting on the corresponding job list.)
- Job URL to Broadcast - the options are:
- ATS/Configured URL - uses the URL configured on the job manually or populated from the ATS. Use this for all customers who do not have Career Sites
- Talemetry URL - Deprecated - NEVER USE THIS!
- Connect Site URL - uses the unique job URL from the selected career site (Connect site drop-down field). Use this for adrop-downers who are using Career Sites.
Broadcast Engine Settings
The Broadcast Engine settings section enables and configures the Per Post Broadcast system, whereby a recruiter can send a specific job to 1 or more job boards. The following are the settings:
- Broadcast Engine is Active - default off. Turn on to enable per-post Broadcast from this job list.
- Broadcast Engine ID, Key is This Broadcast identifier and key to activatingast. This references to present the specific job board contracts available to the recruiter.
- Automatically Unbroadcast Job—This setting controls how jobs are removed (or unbroadcast) from job boards when they are archived or removed from the job list.
- ON—Recommended. When the job is archived or removed from the job list, it will be identified for unbroadcast. Overnight, the jobs will be removed from the per-post job boards.
- OFF - Default. No action taken to unbroadcast or remove a job from a per post job boards when the job is archived.
- A recruiter can broadcast to the agency. This setting enables the Manage Agencies to take action on jobs while on the job list. NOTE: The agency is a licensed module that also needs to be enabled.
- ON - Recruiters can send jobs to Agencies from the job menu while on that job list.
- OFF - Default. Manage Agencies is not available as an action.
