Introduction
In Recruitment Marketing (RM), Auto Talent Rediscovery (formerly Zero-Click Intelligent Sourcing (ZCIS)) is an AI-powered sourcing solution that enables customers to automatically receive recommended candidates and send high-quality candidate invitations to apply for open job requisitions without requiring any recruiter action. This feature saves recruiters and sourcers valuable time and effort, reducing hiring time while maintaining DE&I and quality hiring standards.
Auto Talent Rediscovery is configured for a Job List; each configuration applies to all jobs in the Job List. Several settings are provided to customize sourcing for each job list as needed.

How Does It Work
When a recruiter opens a new job requisition that belongs to the job list configured for Auto Talent Rediscovery, the system does the following:
- Identifies certifications, skills, and job experiences of hires for similar positions.
- Searches your talent pools and previous applicants to identify qualified candidates for your position within a 50-mile radius of the job location city.
- Automatically engages with and invites identified candidates to apply for the position (if configured by your company).
- Delivers quality applicants to your ATS (when the candidate applies for the job).
The recruiter reviews applications in your Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
NOTE: Auto Talent Rediscovery may suggest fewer candidates than requested when the talent pool is not sufficiently deep or when it is unable to find suitable candidates in a particular location.
FAQs and Best Practices
FAQs
Q. Why is Auto Talent Rediscovery Important?
A. Several global trends in recruiting and talent acquisition can impact your ability to fill jobs. Some of these trends include:
- Increase in Job Openings, Decrease in Applicants
- “We’ve doubled the number of active reqs…but we’ve seen a 50% drop in applicants per role” -TA Leader, Healthcare.
- This increase in job openings across many industries has made recruiting candidates and filling positions more difficult.
- Many recruiters need to conduct more sourcing activities to generate applications than they did in the past.
- Demand for Candidates/Time to Hire
- “Before we can get a candidate to interview, they’ve received an offer and accepted with another company…time is our greatest challenge.” -Director of TA, Global Technology Co.
- It has never been more crucial to reduce the time to hire and expedite the speed of communication and outreach to potential candidates.
- Recruiter Staffing Availability/Time
- “My team is half the size they were pre-pandemic, and I’m asking them to do more…it’s a lot of pressure.” -Head of Recruiting, Retail.
- The crunch in staff is due to both poaching and the loss of recruiting staff, as well as the increase in active requisitions.
- The need to source candidates for open requisitions due to the significant decrease in applications compounds the issues.
Q. What is the value of Auto Talent Rediscovery?
A. Auto Talent Rediscovery is valuable in the following ways:
- Saves recruiters’ time
- No need to log in to a platform (set it and forget it)
- Guarantees candidate quality
- Improves candidate experience
- Automatically leverages your CRM and candidate pools
- Saves job advertising costs
Q. Is my current ATS compatible with Auto Talent Rediscovery?
A. Auto Talent Rediscovery is an RM product that integrates with many of today’s ATS solutions, including Jobvite ATS, Workday, Taleo, iCims, etc.
Q. How do I report on the effectiveness of Auto Talent Rediscovery?
A. Reporting is available under the Auto Talent Rediscovery Performance and Auto Talent Rediscovery Email Engagement dashboards, located in Analytics under the CRM folder. Please see Standard Reports - Evolve RM for additional information.
Q. Can I get recommendations for remote jobs?
A. The candidates are recommended within the job location. For jobs that have detailed location including City, State/Province, and Country, candidates will be sourced within a 50-mile radius of the City. When City is not provided, candidates will be recommended within the State/Province and/or Country, whichever option is provided on the job.
Q. How does the automated invite-to-apply feature work?
Identified top candidates are automatically added to the job in RM. You may choose to invite the candidate to apply automatically. This configuration is done in the Auto Talent Rediscovery setup at the Job list level. To configure automated invite to apply emails, you must provide an email template and identify the “from” user.
Q. When a candidate responds to an “Invite to Apply” (i.e., clicks an email and applies for a job), what source is used for that application?
A. The default source/BID attributed to candidate activities related to Auto Talent Rediscovery will be the RM resume database source (for example, Workday ATS, Taleo Enterprise ATS, etc.). These are found in the Resume DB and Import Channel in Source Tracking reports. If the candidate applies for a job, the source passed into the ATS will be from this channel. The traffic will be identified as coming from an Auto Talent Rediscovery Campaign (Campaign ID), which can be used as a filter in multiple reports.
Alternatively, the Source/BID can be identified as an Auto Talent Rediscovery source. This option is available in Auto Talent Rediscovery Configuration Settings.
Q. What if I don’t want to automatically invite new candidates to apply?
A. Automatic “Invite to applies” are optional and can be enabled or disabled through configuration.
Q. How does Auto Talent Rediscovery prevent spamming candidates via auto invite to apply?
A. Auto Talent Rediscovery only provides candidates with relevant content about jobs that match their profile. You can set limits on how frequently a candidate may be recommended for jobs (for example, no more than one invite every two weeks).
Q. Will Auto Talent Rediscovery exclude candidates who are active in another job?
Yes. Auto Talent Rediscovery will not recommend candidates who have a disposition status mapped to Applied, In Process, or Offer in any other job. Candidates in Hired status in any job can be considered for suggestions if the setting Include candidates hired for other jobs is selected in the Auto Talent Rediscovery rule configuration ensuring that all active ATS dispositions are mapped in source tracking is essential.
Q. Does Auto Talent Rediscovery allow the exclusion of candidates with certain CRM tags, CRM audience, CRM lifecycle, or custom rules?
A. Candidates with CRM Lifecycle state Current Employee are excluded from recommendations. Future enhancements to Auto Talent Rediscovery will include the exclusion of candidates based on specific custom rules.
Q. Does Auto Talent Rediscovery exclude “do not hire” or “do not contact” candidates?
A. Yes. Candidates marked as “do not hire” or “do not contact” are excluded from being recommended for jobs.
Q. What are the options to receive another set of recommendations for the jobs that take too long to fill in?
A. Customers can configure if they want to have old jobs without a Hired candidate processed again or not, and how many days should pass since the previous recommendation (provided options are 0, 15, 30 (default), 45, 60).
Q. How do I enable Auto Talent Rediscovery for my account?
A. Please submit a Help Center Ticket to have Auto Talent Rediscovery enabled for your account. Once enabled, please see the Configuration section.
Best Practices
- Create or identify a user that will be linked to the actions performed by Auto Talent Rediscovery (for example, the same user that will be selected as a sender of the invite to apply emails).
- Implement Auto Talent Rediscovery on a single job list that captures all external jobs posted to the career site (creating a narrow or specific job list may fail in aligning your talent pool with job postings, resulting in few recommendations).
- Set the maximum age of the resume to 36 months, the max option available, to maximize the size of the candidate pool.
- Set “Process active jobs that have no Hired candidates” to every 30 days.
- Set “Maximum candidates per job” at either 10 or 20.
- Set “Skip candidates recommended for any job within the past” to 14.
- Select a job stage where suggested candidates will be added.
- Select “Automatically send Invite to Apply email (optional)”.
- Make sure the name associated with the “From User” is “human readable” such as First Name: Acme and Last Name: Talent Team (or First Name: Acme and Last Name: Recruiting), and not attached to a specific person’s email.
- Modify the Auto Talent Rediscovery default template to develop your first email campaign; avoid adding too many images or additional language; be sure to update the signature at the end of the email to be consistent with the “From User” first & last name.
Configuration
If Auto Talent Rediscovery (ZCIS) has never been enabled
Please submit a Help Center ticket to have Auto Talent Rediscovery enabled.
When the data sync is completed, the Employ Implementation team or a Company Administrator can configure an automated candidates search for job lists.
In your user menu > Applications > Source > Talent Rediscovery > Rules > Add Rule > select the Job List.
NOTE: For jobs that have detailed location including City, State/Province, and Country, candidates will be sourced within a 50-mile radius of the city. The radius will not be used for jobs where location has State/Province and/or Country only.
Configure other options:
- Process active jobs that have no Hired candidates - Specify if the existing jobs that have no Hired candidate in the given job list must be processed again, and if yes, how many days should pass since the previous processing. Select from the following options: 0, 15, 30 (default option), 45, 60.
- Maximum candidates per job - Specify the maximum number of candidates to recommend for each job during the processing run. Options are 2, 5, 10, 20 (default), 30, 40, 50.
- Skip candidates recommended for any job - Specify how many days should pass before the candidate can be recommended again for any job. Options are 7, 14, 21, 30, 45 (default), 60.
- Include candidates hired for other roles - By default, candidates hired for any other job will not be recommended by automated sourcing. Select this option to review candidates who have Hired status in any other job for potential recommendations.
- Add candidate to CRM Stage - Select this option and configure the stage where the candidates suggested by the automated sourcing will be added on the job.
- Automatically send Invite to Apply email - Select this option and configure the auto-email that will be sent to the candidates recommended by the automated sourcing.
Click Save.
The saved rule is displayed on the Auto Talent Rediscovery Rules page.
Each rule can be edited, turned off temporarily, or deleted.
NOTE: Edits made to the rule configuration will be reflected in the next run.
If Auto Talent Rediscovery (ZCIS) has been enabled
Customers who have an existing Auto Talent Rediscovery (ZCIS) set up will be migrated to the new AI solution automatically; no involvement is required.
Please note the following differences between ZCIS and the new Auto Talent Rediscovery.
- Search by Job Location will not be configurable. Instead, the following rule will be used: for jobs that have detailed location including City, State/Province, and Country, candidates will be sourced within a 50-mile radius of the City. When City is not provided, candidates will be recommended within the State/Province and/or Country, whichever option is provided on the job.
- Customers will now be able to configure if they want to have old jobs without a Hired candidate processed again or not, and how many days should pass since the previous recommendation. (ZCIS used to reprocess jobs every 13 days.) NOTE: For the existing jobs, the days count will restart after the transition to the new AI engine.
IMPORTANT: During the transition period from the old ZCIS engine to the new AI solution, all configured Rules for the account will be paused. The transition period will depend on the number of active jobs in the account and may take several days.
