Complete the Reject Candidate email.

  • Disposition - Select the appropriate reason
  • Send Rejection Email - Selected by default, sends the candidate a rejection email
  • Reject from all Applications - If the candidate had multiple applications, you can choose to reject from all
  • Notify candidate after this many days - When the candidate will be notified
  • Sent Anonymously - The email will be sent from the Recruiting Team. Your contact information will not be shared with the candidate.
  • CC / BCC - Departments or other team members you want to notify
  • Templates - Select the desired email template
  • Template - This should be your Rejection template
  • Subject - Auto-populates from your template

Your admin may have enabled the Delayed Rejection Notification feature for your organization. If so, you will have the option to reject the candidate now but delay their notification email from 1 to 15 days, depending upon what you select in the Notify candidate after this many days: selection box. If enabled, this allows you – when desirable – to let some time pass before a rejected candidate receives their notification: perhaps if you are closing a requisition and there were some very recent applications or after completing an interview where you know the candidate is not a good fit.

Note: When a candidate has been rejected and their rejection notice is pending, this is easily identifiable in the candidate record. Further, if they check their status in their applicant profile, it will continue to show 'In Process' until their rejection notice has been delivered.
