Video Interview Troubleshooting

Overview

The following article reviews accessing your Jobseeker account and a series of troubleshooting steps you can take if you encounter issues with a video interview a company has sent you.

Access Your Jobseeker Account

You can follow the link in your email to your video interview or go to Jobvite.com and click Login at the top right of your screen.

Enter your email address (username), then click Next.

Enter your password, then click Sign In.

NOTE: If you are unsure of the password you created when registering your account, click Forgot password? under the username and password fields.

After you log in, click Video Interview Invites.

Click Record Interview.

You can choose to Take a Practice Interview or Start Interview.

The video interview is designed with a list of questions the company provides for you to answer, with a designated amount of time to review each question and consider your response and a specified amount of time to answer each question.

Troubleshooting

Check Your Browser is Up to Date

Google Chrome is the recommended browser for the video interview. Video issues can be caused by multiple problems, such as an out-of-date browser, audio/video driver, or the wrong microphone selected in the browser settings.

If you encounter any issues during the system test, please follow the troubleshooting steps below.

Open a Google Chrome browser window, then click on the three vertical dots in the top right of the screen, next to the address bar.

Select Help, then click About Google Chrome.

The Chrome browser will automatically update or show Google Chrome is up to date.

Check Your Browser Settings

  • Ensure that your browser has permission to access your camera and microphone.
  • Check if your camera and microphone are selected as the default input devices in your browser settings.
  • If you have multiple cameras or microphones, select the correct one.

Additional Troubleshooting

If you are still experiencing issues, please try the following:

  • Restart your computer.
  • Try using a different browser.
  • Check your internet connection.
